Privacy policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
1. Who we are
Doom Scroller is a Personal Brand Operating Strategy brand.
ABN 52 656 563 190
We're based in NSW, Australia. In this page, "we", "us" and "our" means Doom Scroller.
We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Questions about privacy go to joseph@pbos.com.au, the email for our parent company.
2. What we collect
- Contact details. Your name and email when you buy, sign up to The Daily Scroll or email us.
- Order details. What you bought, when, the price, your billing country and address.
- Payment details. Handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
- Technical details. Your IP address, device, browser and the pages you visit.
- Cookies and pixels. Small files that help the site work and, with your OK, give us basic store analytics. See our Cookie Policy.
- Anything you send us. Form answers, emails and messages.
3. Why we collect it and how we use it
- To process your order and send you access to what you bought.
- To send receipts, access links and important updates about your products.
- To send The Daily Scroll and occasional offers, only if you opted in.
- To answer your questions and give you support.
- To understand how the site is used and make it better, using Shopify's store analytics (with your consent).
- To prevent fraud and keep the store secure.
- To keep the records the law requires, like tax records.
If you don't give us your details, we can't sell to you or send you your products.
4. How we store and secure it
Your information is stored with the trusted service providers below, not on our own servers. Every page on this site runs over HTTPS. We limit who can access your details, use two-factor authentication on our accounts and never store card details. We keep your information only as long as we need it, and order records for five years to meet Australian tax rules.
5. Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the services that help us run Doom Scroller:
- Shopify. Runs our store, checkout and order records.
- Shopify Payments (powered by Stripe). Processes your payment.
- Notion. Hosts the product pages you get access to.
- Kit. Sends The Daily Scroll and other emails you opted in to.
- Zapier. Moves information between our tools, for example adding a customer who opted in to our email list.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
6. Sending data overseas
Most of these providers store data outside Australia, mainly in the United States and Canada, and in other countries where they run servers, including countries in the European Union. We choose providers with strong security and privacy practices, but overseas laws may not protect your information in exactly the same way Australian law does.
7. Tracking pixels and analytics
We don't currently use Google Analytics, the Meta Pixel or any advertising pixels. Shopify collects basic visit data, like pages viewed and where visitors came from, to give us store analytics. That only runs after you click Accept or switch it on in Cookie preferences. Essential cookies that run the cart and checkout always load. You can change your mind at any time from the footer. If we ever add advertising or analytics tools, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent first.
8. Automated decisions and AI
We don't use automated decision-making or AI to make decisions about you that significantly affect your rights or interests. We use AI tools to help analyse publicly available videos and draft our products. We don't feed your personal information into those tools.
Shopify runs automated fraud checks on orders. If you think your order was wrongly flagged, email us and a real person will review it.
9. Marketing emails
We only add you to an email list if you tick the box to say yes. Every email includes our business name, our contact details and a working unsubscribe link. If you unsubscribe, we action it within 5 business days.
10. Access, correction and deletion
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to fix it or ask us to delete it. Email joseph@pbos.com.au. We'll reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm who you are first, and we may need to keep some records the law requires, like tax records.
11. Making a complaint
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, email joseph@pbos.com.au and tell us what happened. We'll look into it and reply within 30 days. If you're not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the business or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
